OUR VETERANS REMEMBERED WITH TEA DANCE & PARTY
The
Pearly King & Queen quartet
led a tea dance last weekend (23rd July 2006), with songs from the 1940’s
and 50’s, entertaining over 350 veterans and their families and friends. Dancing
and
afternoon tea
ensured everyone had a great afternoon.
Tom Watson MP, the Minister for Veterans at the Ministry of Defence, Ann Keen MP & Alan Keen MP presented Veteran Lapel Badges to former service men and women in a very moving ceremony.
“This has been a great afternoon of celebration for everyone. I am happy to be able to share this special day with our local veterans and their families.” said local MP Alan Keen.
Tom Watson MP said, “I am delighted to be in Hounslow and am honoured to meet
veterans who have served our
country. The badges we have presented today remember
the personal courage and commitment of our veterans. I am pleased to celebrate
their service.”
