Tuesday 10th August 2010 Alan Keen MP calls on Government to commit to Decent Homes for Hounslow Tenants Local MP Alan Keen today called on the Government to complete repairs to the area’s aging stock of social housing. The MP for Feltham and Heston urged Housing Minister Grant Shapps to release funds to bring the substandard homes in Hounslow up to a decent standard. Alan Keen MP is campaigning for continued investment in the Decent Homes scheme, which was started by the Labour Government, to bring all of Hounslow’s social housing up to a...

28th July 2010 Alan Keen’s Column I noticed the headline on the Chronicle article dated July 21 by Vince Cable “NHS Reforms will not please everyone”. I have the greatest respect for Vince and he is perfectly right in his judgement; but what an understatement! Andrew Lansley made his statement to the House on the July 12. During the questioning of the Secretary of State there was disquiet on the Con/Dem side of the chamber as well as horror expressed on the opposition benches. The Secretary of State announced that he is going to dissolve all...

1st June 2010 Alan Keen’s Column England has only ever won the World Cup under a Labour government. That was the key issue we missed out of our election manifesto! That is also the last mention of politics I will make today. I look forward to examining the coalition government’s proposals as details emerge over the next few weeks but, for the moment, football rules. While we await the start of the World Cup I thought I would ramble through one or two of my World Cup memories. It came as a shock in 1950...
